HOME REMEDIES FOR TOOTH PAIN Tooth Pain is a pain in and around the tooth and jaws. Sometimes it starts from mild sensitivity to severe chronic pain causing difficulty in eating or even sleeping at night. Although it is usually recommended to visit your dentist as soon as you start having sensitivity, many of us don’t follow it. We wait till the pain becomes unbearable. And try all the home remedies listed and then visit your dentist when the situation worsens. Here are a few home remedies to help you with your tooth pain if you are not able to reach out to a dentist:- 1. Painkillers Over-the-counter medications contain ibuprofen and acetaminophen which can help you relieve pain temporarily 2. Salt Water Mouthwash Saltwater rinsing can help in relieving gum pain and pain which is caused der to food or debris lodgment. Inside cavities, It also helps in boosting the healing process. Saltwater rinsing works best for gum pains. For saltwater rinsing, take 1 glass of Lukewarm water, add a tablespoon of salt, and rinse with it thoroughly. Do it 3-4 times a day for better results. 3. Clove oil/ Clove Clove has been always proven to reduce tooth pain. It effectively reduces pain and inflammation. Use diluted clove oil on a small cotton ball and place it on the affected area. You can also use clove directly and put it in the affected area. Do not massage the area with the clove oil or do not keep the clove for too long. it may lead increase in swelling or infection in the area. 5. Peppermint Tea Bag It helps to numb pain and soothe sensitive pain. You either use a warm or cold tea bag and keep it in the affected area. 6. Garlic Garlic has great anti-bacterial properties. It not only kills bacteria but also helps to relieve pain. For relieving tooth pain, crush the garlic clove, mix it with a pinch of salt and place it near the affected area. 7. Wheatgrass Wheatgrass has anti-bacterial property and immune-boosting properties. You can use wheatgrass to drink or you can use it as a mouthwash. 8. Vanilla Extract It might be surprising, but studies have shown that vanilla extract sometimes helps to numb the pain Vanilla extract contains alcohol which can help numb pain. It also has a proven antioxidant property which has an effective healing property. You can dab a small cotton ball in vanilla extract and place it in the affected area.
